As the baby starts to walk on their own and unsupervised, you can install the safety features like the non-slip mats to prevent the kids from slipping and falling in the bathtub and injuring themselves.
All the unsafe items should be kept away from your kid. As the kids start walking and crawling they pick anything that they can put their little hands around and put in the mouth and so you have to be careful about what you put at the kids reach. Keep all the medicines, toiletries that can be toxic and mothballs away from your kids. Put all the items that can be pulled by your baby and fall on them down so that you can avoid these hazards. The locks and catches can be put everywhere starting from the cupboard doors, washing machines and everywhere where your kids can open and explore so that you can protect them.
Ensure that your home windows are well secured so that the baby cannot be able to pass through them as at times they can be tempted to peep through the windows. Install the window restrictors such that the kids will not be able to open the window, but still when you open the window yourself, you will restrict the window so that fresh air can enter your house but still secure your kid by limiting the space between the window such that the kid cannot pass through the wind and avoid slip and falls.
